Senior Katy Lukaszewski (Pasadena, TX/Deer Park HS), an outside hitter for the SU volleyball team, has been named an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team selection announced on Thursday (Nov. 8).

Lukaszewski, a Third Team honoree in 2006, was selected as a result of her success both in the classroom and on the court. She owns a 3.94 grade point average and was recently named to her third straight All-SCAC team.

The senior is second on the team with 418 kills and a 3.19 kills per game average. She is also second on the squad in digs, averaging 3.73 per game. Lukaszewski also has 59 total blocks and 35 service aces this season.

As a First Team selection, Lukaszewski will be put on a ballot for Academic All-America consideration. The ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District and All-America teams are voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
