Sophomore Samantha Lingamfelter (New Braunfels, TX/New Braunfels HS) has been selected as the SU Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance this past weekend at the SCAC Central/West Divisional.

The Pirates' defensive specialist averaged 6.8 digs in four matches, bringing her season digs per game average up to 5.57. For the weekend, Lingamfelter totaled 116 digs. She also had five assists, three service aces and a pair of kills.

Lingamfelter reached the 30 digs plateau in three of the team's four matches and even set a career-high with 41 digs in the Pirates' 3-2 loss to Birmingham-Southern College.

The 2006 Third Team All-Conference performer leads the conference in digs, with 423, and in digs per game at 5.57. In SCAC play, she has averaged 6.11 digs per game.
