First year middle blocker Lindsay Thompson (Austin, TX) has been named SCAC Co-Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, September 22 through Sunday, September 28. Thompson led Southwestern to a 4-0 record this past weekend at the SCAC East/West Cross in Atlanta. She led the team in blocks and kills, averaging 1.08 blocks per set and 2.58 kills per set. This included weekend highs of 6 blocks in a 3 game win against Colorado College and 10 kills in a 3 game win over Oglethorpe. On the weekend, Thompson totaled 31 kills, 13 blocks (accounting for 68% of the team's total blocks) and had a hitting percentage of .289. Thompson shares the honor with junior outside hitter Amy Mittelstaedt of Trinity. |
