When the Southwestern University softball program begins play in 2009 the Pirates will be playing their games on the Taylor-Sanders Softball Field on the campus of Southwestern. The field was originally built in 2000 and has been used for intramurals and club softball. In order to get it ready for play, the fence will be moved in with a distance of 200 feet down the corners and 210 feet to center field. In addition, Southwestern will be putting up a scoreboard and constructing bullpens and batting cages. The field will be ready for play for the Pirates' inaugural season in the spring of 2009.
