The SU women's golf team remains in first place after two rounds on Saturday (Apr. 26) at the SCAC Championships being held in Danville, IN and lead host DePauw University by five strokes. Junior Marisa Mauldin (Utopia, TX/Utopia HS) extended her lead on the field to nine strokes as she looks for her second consecutive SCAC Championship. She is currently shooting 154 (78-76). Fellow junior Delilah Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) is second for SU with a 166 (80-86) and eighth overall. In ninth place is Kristen Davenport (Mansfield, TX/Mansfield HS) with a two-round score of 168 (89-79). Next for SU is Cody Wallace (Austin, TX/Lake Travis HS) in a tie for 10th with a 169 (89-80) after round two. First-year Victoria Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) is in a tie for 20th, tallying a 181 (91-90) Southwestern led by just one stroke after round one and now with a score of 657 (336-321) the Pirates lead by five strokes. The Pirates final round will be tomorrow, Sunday (Apr. 27), as the women attempt to win the conference championship for the second time in two years.
