The Southwestern University women's golf team finished fourth at the St. Edwards Invitational on Tuesday (Mar. 4) with sophomore Kristen Davenport (Mansfield, TX/Mansfield HS) winning her second collegiate tournament by two strokes. Davenport fired a two-round total of 157 (79-78) to pick up the win. The second place finisher was Tarleton State's Shraddhanjali Singh with a 159. It was Davenport's first win of the season after winning one tournament during her first year in the 2006-07 season. Junior Marisa Mauldin (Utopia, TX/Utopia HS) tied for ninth after shooting 165 (87-78). First-year Victoria Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) tallied a 176 (96-80) to tie for 43rd place. Junior Delilah Dominguez (Bastrop, TX/Bastrop HS) finished in a 49th-place tie with a 179 (95-84). Sophomore Cody Wallace (Austin, TX/Lake Travis HS) ended the tournament in 87th place, shooting 211 (117-94). The Pirates moved up from a tie for seventh to finish in fourth place, totaling 677 (357-320) as a team. The University of Texas JV team earned the win after shooting a team score of 649. Southwestern's women will hit the links again when they travel to Jekyll Island, GA for the Jekyll Island Invitational on March 21-23.
