Dec. 1, 2006 Two Southwestern University men's soccer players were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America South Central All-Region Team that was announced on Friday (Dec. 1). Senior Lauro Davalos (Mission, TX/Mission HS) makes his third appearance as an All-Region honoree. Davalos was a Third Team selection this season after being named as a Second Team performer last season. He was second on the team with 14 points, scoring three goals and leading the team with eight assists. He also scored two game-winning goals during the year. Davalos was a Second Team All-SCAC selection. Fellow senior Darryn Lewis (Georgetown, TX/Georgetown HS) also received Third Team All-Region honors. Lewis, a defensive player for the Pirates, scored four goals and had four assists on the season and tied for the team-lead with nine points in conference play.
