Paiz Named All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America

Southwestern University senior Christopher Paiz (Sugar Land, TX/The Kinkaid School) was named a Golf Coaches Association of America Division III Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar on Monday (May 14) along with 42 other NCAA Division III junior and senior men's golfers.

Paiz was one of two seniors on the Southwestern roster this season and was the top-finisher for the Pirates five times during the 2006-2007 season. His best finish this season was third place at the McMurry Fall Classic during the fall schedule as he helped SU to a second-place finish.

For a Division III golfer to be named an All-America Scholar, he must be a junior or senior academically with at least two full years competing on the collegiate level. He has to have participated in 70 percent of his teams competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championship, average under 79.0 in Division III play and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 or higher.
