The SU men's golf team placed sixth at the SCAC Championship tournament in Danville, IN on Sunday (Apr. 27) with a team score of 962.

Ricky Jones (St. Louis, MO/Eureka HS), a sophomore, earned Second Team All-SCAC honors by placing ninth with a three-round score of 236 (80-78-78). In a tie for 13th was Stephen Gehring (College Station, TX/A&M Consolidated HS) with a 239 (85-70-84).

Junior Xan Erwin (Austin, TX/Westwood HS) finished alone in 22nd with a tally of 244 (88-82-74). His 74 was the Pirates lowest score of the round. Philip Thompson (Utopia, TX/Utopia HS) fired a 250 (83-88-79) for a 32nd-place finish. Tyler Russell (Cypress, TX/Cy-Fair HS) finished with a 255 (89-81-85) to tie for 37th.

Southwestern's season comes to an end as they finished with a 962 (336-311-315). The Pirates finished just seven strokes out of third place. Oglethorpe University won the championship with a team score of 922.
