Gruetzner was an Academic All-District pick for four years, a First Team All-District pitcher in 2004, the team MVP in 2004, a Second Team All-District pitcher in 2005 and a First Team All-District outfielder in 2005, as well as being the Golf MVP as a freshman and lettered four years in golf, three in baseball, earned one letter in soccer and three in track for the Bears at Bastrop HS.
