2007-2008 (First-year)
Cross Country: Smith competed in all six meets for the Pirates and was a top-5 finisher for the team in all but one meet. His highest overall finish was at the Texas D-III State Championships where he finished 34th of 71 and ran 31:11.36 for the 8k. At the South/Southeast Regional Championships, he was 3rd Pirate to cross the finish line and placed 85th of 170 competitors. He ran the 8k course in a personal best time of 28:58.

High School
Smith's high school bests are 4:44 in the 1600m, 10:16 in the 3200m, and 16:37 in the 5k. He earned TAPPS All-State cross country honors in 2005 and 2006. He was TAPPS I-4A District champ in the 3200m and 1600m in the 2006 track season. In 2007 he was the TAPPS II-5A 1600m champ and runner-up in the 3200m. He was also runner-up in the TAPPS 5A North Regional in the 1600m and 3200m in 2007. Smith also earned TAPPS All-State Track honors in the 3200m in 2006.
