Kessler was a four year letterwomen and team captain at Westwood High School. Was named a Academic All-American in Swimming.

Sam is the daughter of Carl and Brenda Kessler...was born on May 17, 1989...has one brother and two sisters-Grant, Lauren and Robyn...brother Grant is a 2005 graduate of SU and holds several varsity swimming records...is undecided in her major at SU.
